NO financial information is (and will be) required or used on the site for registration or any other process.
NO transaction is made through the site except the bidding and buy now, wich are virtual, the payments can be made by whatever method you or the seller choose or accept. When you choose to pay directly on the site the seller through Paypal* the site just redirect you to the actual paypal website. Anyway, you are secured differently depending the method you use for payment.
The system is also linked to Paypal* to pay your seller fees if any...

The registration is secured by admin aproval because we need to review every account carefully to increase security of our members.

Your Password is not sent to you by email after your registration. If you lose it, a new temporary password will be created by the system through the "retrieve your password" page and sent to you. You will be able to login and reset your new password in your member area.
You have two login types:

• The standard login process is secured by SSL but you browse your member area in standard mode.
• The Fast login process allows you to login quickly directly from the homepage.

The need for some real transparency is obvious in this niche market and discussions about those related matters around are meaningfull and never ending.
In those times where some records prices are going higher and higher, the need for something clear and straight has become essential.

We are all aware of the common fake bidders problems on Auction sites, there are the ones that bid and doesn't pay, those are quickly identified on Reggae Auction* and they are quickly banned. The other type of fake bidders are the ones that are used (usually by the seller or friend of the seller) to increase the final sale price on an item, generally because the seller do not have control on the sale price and is worried his item could end for a ridiculous price.

With the new features we created, sellers don't have to worry anymore. We came with a series of improvements and changes to answer in a specific way to this matter. Because just keeping an eye open isn’t enough...Finding solutions is a lot more interesting.

Let's be totally clear, there are mainly two main concerns when it comes to Auction Sites...

On Reggae Auction things are simple : the END OF AUCTION fee system is flat and NOT based on a percentage of the sold amount!
Reggae Auction* has NO BENEFIT from the price a record is being sold at, either it’s sold for 8 USD or 100 USD, it’s the SAME small fee...so clearly using fake bidder accounts will be pointless!

Well with the system we created, Reggae Auction* sellers have no need to mess around.

There is already the "Buy Now" or "Reserve Price" features, but these features don't always let the buyer feeling or thinking that he's going to get a bargain or a good deal...

So the buyer needs to be able to get a good deal or bargain while being sure he's not abused by some trick or cheat, and in the meantime the seller shouldn't take any risk to let go his precious records for a buck!

The "Make Offer" System we created to answer those matters works like nowhere else, it allows the buyer to be 100% secured and allows the seller to have 100% control!

There are two distinctive ways to use The "Make Offer" System :

1) you can mix it up in your standard and buy out auctions how you want and it also works with any other feature combinations, Reserve / Make Offer range view / Private auction / Swap feature or anything available that fits your needs!

2) the ultimate "100% secure / no cheat solution":

- Make Offer Only auctions (no buy out or auction start price)

Why is that ? and how does it work:

- Every member can make an offer on the item, members can make several offers even if the seller didn't act on the first ones.
- There is a new specific page in seller's member area to manage all his offers, in one click he can check all the offers made on his items and simply reject or accept the offers placed, when an offer is accepted, the auction is closed.
- The buyer also gets a dedicated page to follow up all the offers he places, where he can cancel his offers at anytime, place another one or ask a question directly to the seller.
- All the offers are made in the currency the seller originally selected during the selling process.
- You can use the "Private auction" feature with "Make Offer" option, that will make the winning offer and buyer unvisible.
- With "Make Offer Only" auctions, everything (offers / winner / sold price) is private to ensure the auction isn't used to influence other potential buyers or other sales.
- The amounts offered on an item are unvisible on the item page during the auction and after...so nothing can affect in any way other buyers offers!
- Feedbacks are not private, so if you search for it you finally have a way after some time, if feedback is left, to know winner username, to avoid artificial increase of feedback ratings!
- Offers are canceled automatically when the auction ends.
- Sellers will receive email notifications mentioning title of item / price offered and buyer username, so they can instantly decide to take action or not. To follow our New eco friendly project, this gives the oportunity to the seller not to take unnecessary actions on the site, just check his emails and wait for the right offer.
- "Make Offer" sales are also based on a flat end of auction fee, that will be category dependent exactly as other auctions.
- Please note: "Make offer" Auctions are not supported by the bulk lister ( the Reggae Auction* mass lister software).

As you can see, the way the "Make Offer Only" auction system works means that the seller have TOTAL control over the selling price, seller can choose not to sell, it is totally risk free!

AND the buyer is also 100% protected when using this system!

- Members can't contact other members or current Bidders to make them offers for records they are or were bidding on.

- There is no "second chance offer" feature on Reggae Auction* to help prevent malicious activities (like artificially increasing the price of the item and offering it to the first genuine bidder)

- When you want to update your Bid by bidding again, your proxy bid will be updated, and the system will not show to others you bidded twice on the item, unlike where you know, this means: You avoid jokers bidding on the item knowing you'll still be highest bidder!

- Feedback can't be private...

Reggae Auction* terms and conditions state clearly that the website will reserve its right to eventually suspend or ban definitely a member's account, after reminders or notifications for:

- Not responding to one or several transaction disputes,
- Leaving one or several abusive or unlogical feedbacks,
- Member behaviors during disputes resolutions.

There are posts and threads on every forum for bad experiences, not serious sellers, fake bidders, non paying bidders and time wasters, and every buyer or seller has at least one time complained about such situations.

We aim to think different, so we take the different problems of the community and we bring solutions.

Reggae Auction* goal is to build the safest community, and to make every effort to provide a sensefull feedback reputation for all members, regardless how hard it can be.

That kind of goal is unreachable without everyone's effort!

Some quick and clear explanations:
>>>As a seller, if a winner doesn't pay or respond to your invoice after a certain amount of time it's your responsibility to file a dispute then leave an appropriate feedback upon result. Don't you want to avoid time wasters and get serious members buying your items?
>>>As a buyer, describe fairly in your feedback the overall aspect of the deal with the seller, and it's your responsibility to file a dispute for wrong or unreceived item! Don't you want to buy to serious sellers with careful and accurate grading, that ship quickly and securely?

Opening disputes or filling abuse reports is the only way, to notify Reggae Auction* something wrong is going on, so we can help and make sure it doesn't happen again!

Abusive and unlogical feedbacks examples:
1) a seller leaves a negative to a buyer because he didn't pay after 5 days without even trying to contact him...
2) a buyer leaves a negative because the record doesn't show up, after refusing or not paying for any insurance...

Common sense and responsibility are required!

Remember that Reggae Auction* is for serious, honest and respectfull sellers, buyers and collectors only.

Leaving feedback is mandatory and it's important to fill in the custom reputation fields that will allow you to describe carefully the transaction in every aspect.
Each time you will leave a feedback you will have those options to choose with check boxes:

BUYER TO SELLER:
